JVS School and Community Center will house one of WRED's two Pre-K classrooms for the 2024-2025 School Year.  We are excited to provide a quality early-learning experience for all our local children and are lucky at JVS  to have lots of outdoor space for our children to explore and play and learn together.  Lead teacher, Kathie Gatto-Gurney, has been teaching young children for decades and brings immense energy, creativity and nurturing to her teaching practice.

    JVS' campus has an expansive play-yard and is located just steps from Jamaica State Park giving students lots of opportunity for outdoor exploration, play and learning.

    Local Pre-K students will be given opportunity to build community with their friends and neighbors as they embark on their learning journey-- building relationships and experiencing special events together.

    Lead-teacher, Kathie Gatto-Gurney, has decades of experience working with our youngest learners.  Her approach to teaching embeds all of the Pre-K learning domains into her curriculum infused with lots of singing, dancing/movement, art-making and play.
